Mental Talk – Peer Support Group: High Functioning Mental Illness

High Functioning Mental Illnesses are recognized as invisible mental illnesses. This, of course, doesn’t make them any less real. A high number of people all across the world, from children to elders, live their every day lives with a high functioning mental illness. Many do not get treated nor are able to recognize the signs of it. Join us on a peer group in which we’ll discuss what is a high functioning mental illness, what are some signs of be living with one, and talking about experiences living with a high functioning mental illness. This group is not close to one specific diagnosis, we want to have an open conversation about mental illnesses and what living with one is like as well as providing resources and coping mechanisms that may be beneficial for living with a high functioning mental illness, especially during a pandemic.

About Mental Talk: Good Mental Health is all about talking, sharing, and listening to one another. What better way to share life experiences in a supportive peer and topic lead group. Topics will range from work, family, caregivers and life balance, meditation, chronic pain, self-care, stress, racism (Transgenerational Trauma) depression, and more. Mental Talk is for someone who believes peer mental health support is important. This group is open, honest, and willing to share in a supportive environment. No judgment. Always kindness.

We use Google Meet and can hold 250 people but most likely meetings will be between 5-25 people. Best experience using Google Chrome Browser. Check your computer audio before workshop times for the best results.
