Mental Health Can Affect Learning

When mental health issues are present in the home, it can affect a child’s ability to learn and study. We want to help children advance by providing tutoring programs and more! Pre-Volunteer Orientation

If you have already filled out our application form, and have received an invite to sign up for Volunteer Orientation this is the next step to join our volunteer team. To get started, please register to attend one of our Volunteer Orientation webinars by emailing us the day you would like to attend.

Please note you must be 18 years or older to volunteer at Step Up For Mental Health, however, if you are 16+ your parent must sign a consent form to join our team and would be happy to have you.

Please be aware our nonprofit resides in the United States: Chicago, Illinois, if you live outside of the US, you might want to find a nonprofit closer to your location.

*During the COVID-19 Pandemic Crisis, all-volunteer roles will be virtual positions. You must have access to Video/Audio equipment.

Note: I understand and agree that attending our volunteer orientation does not automatically register me as a Step Up For Mental Health volunteer and that there may be certain qualifications I must meet, including signing our Volunteer Handbook and sign the policies and procedures outlined before volunteering will begin.

** This meeting is a group interview that will have breakout rooms to talk 1:1 with the interviewee. Please come prepared to have a virtual experience with video and audio turned on. This is no different than if we were meeting face to face. Calling in is not an option for this type of meeting. Step Up For Mental Health looks forward to learning more about you and to see if it’s a good fit for both. We thank you for taking the time to volunteer and appreciate your support!
